Welcome to the Urban Space Initiative. USI is dedicated to making better urban places by exploring the connection that exists between public space and the life of urbanites. This is achieved through social and spatial research and by small scale interventions such as guerrilla gardening. The importance of championing urban public spaces can be justified in their potential to act as platforms for urban communities, human interaction and expression.
